Can we be the change we wish to see in the world?

Since the early 1900’s, International Women’s Day has been observed.  As with any great movement, it always begins and continues with grassroots efforts to make changes that will benefit a certain group that doesn’t always have the voice or power.

This year, the theme for International Women’s Day is “Pledge for Parity”.  The World Economic Forum predicted in 2014 that it would take until 2095 to achieve global gender parity.  Parity is the state or condition of being equal, especially regarding status or pay.  So, what is being asked of us today, and truly all days, is to take some action steps to help women and girls achieve “…their ambitions, call for gender-balanced leadership, respect and value difference, develop more inclusive and flexible cultures or root out workplace bias.”

Honestly, I feel at this point, that those of us living in developed countries MUST stand up and be leaders in this conversation.  There are many women who are impoverished, who do not have the safety to speak, who are being chronically victimized…. who don’t even have the option to get a job.  We must be courageous and inspired to reach out and support our sisters in our local or global communities.

I ask you to make a pledge of helping out a sister in need today, this week, or this month to really be a catalyst in changing the current paradigms for women and girls.

Here is a listing of Events celebrating International Women’s Day.

Also, it is important to note that tomorrow’s International Women’s Day is also the New Moon in Pisces.  Pisces really brings out our sensitivities for it is a Water sign.  For women, water brings our flowing emotions.  The Feminine at her core, is about flow and movement so it makes sense that for many women, this sign can really allow deep or stuck feelings, thoughts, etc to have movement.  You may experience more tears than normal or maybe you find yourself swimming in your intuition that is allowing you to have a deeper sense of “sight” and compassion.

I say all this so that you understand the Lunar energies that are circulating around you and understand that these flows of Pisces can also help shift the tides of Women’s Rights and Freedoms.

Pisces can offer us such depth of emotions that you possibly dive into this International Women’s Day more than you might at another time.
You might feel into another woman’s pains or heartaches more.
You might feel into your own knowing that you wish to be the change we want to see in the world.
You might understand at a much deeper level how crucial it is to support the global rising of Women and girls.
You might be feeling into your own ruptures and devastations as a woman (or as a young girl).

Take what you are feeling or what you are intuiting and be a Revolutionary.  Let the Pisces Moon be your Guide.  Allow her to nudge you forward on your own path of Healing and Growth.  And from there, you will be the greatest Guide for other women.

I would love to hear how this day and this Moon are affecting you…
And how you will commit to being a stand to change politics, societal conditioning, and deeply ingrained patterns related to women and girls.

With my heart extended to yours… and to all women and girls around the world. With Love....
And Remembering the Ways of the Feminine™,
